Sunday Club Run 20 February 2011

Well, for the second week running Trevor & Billy were cursed by bad weather, only this time Ev, Tony M, Dave Elliot and Brian Harris joined the party with Dave starting his first ride in ages due to his bad back.

It was a grim start with the weather forecast of the previous evening predicting a bright and dry morning being washed away by the mist/ drizzle as we climbed up to the top of North Downs via Selsdon, Chelsham and Beddlestead Farm Lane. Dave turned back at Farley after 20 minutes climbing feeling his legs hurting a bit after such a long time off the bike.

At the top of Beddlestead it was decided to cut short to Westerham, so I put a little loop in via Tatsfield which had a few sharp little digs in it just to remind the legs and lungs of what hard work is! We sped down the main Westerham Hill, around that wonderful right hand curve that seems to go on forever and becomes very interesting in the wet! Brian decided that he did not fancy the Westerham cafe to he turned towards Biggin Hill instead.

After refreshment we took the usual way home via Westerham Hill, through the clinging damp mist and hammered back via Warlingham on surprisingly quite roads.

Stats from Trevor will be supplied on the weekly briefing sheet.
