Club Runs

Road Rides

The club usually runs ride on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Saturday rides are normally shorter than Sundays and generally meet at Nonsuch Park outside the mansion. Check Blog for the latest.

Sundays rides are usually longer than the Saturday rides. Although the rides are longer we don’t race to get those miles done but do sometimes have a few hills to give everyone a bit of a challenge. Obviously there is always somebody faster than you on the bike but as a club we always wait for everybody to get to the top before moving on. Nobody is left behind.  They are usually led by Trevor Hughes and the ride consist of meeting at Cheam Station and going out to a selected cafe stop for example Clandon Park near Guildford. Once there we stop for a short coffee break and food if you want and once everyone is happy we then head back to Cheam usually along a different route. The mileages for these rides is normally around 40 – 50 miles and are suited to more established riders. If you have been regularly riding for a while then these rides would be ideal for you.

Away Days

Mountain Bike Rides

These rides are Lead by Bill Martin and are on a Wednesday evening. Usually we meet at Nonsuch Park Mansion House (SM3 8AL). The rides start a 7:00pm in the summer months and follow a number of circular routes on local tracks and trails.

The rides are sociable and the pace / distance covered is tailored to the riders who turn up. Generally a steady moderate pace covering between 12 and 20 miles. It is always advisable to bring lights on these rides as daylight is typically fading towards the end.

During the longer daylight hours these rides are a good introduction to the Club and a great way to build your Fitness levels up before tackling one of the longer Club rides. Watch the blog for meeting times and details.
