Saturday 20th August, off road Ockham Bites

Seven riders out for the ride to Ockham Bites: Mick Curtis, Dave Rapson, Tracy Caudle, Trevor Kite, Rohan ‘Doctor D’, Adam Domaingue and myself leading.

Route: Hogsmill River, Horton Country Park, Epsom Common, Leatherhead, Fetcham, Bookham Common, Downside (Cobham south) and Pointers Lane.

Pointers Lane was used as it will be one of the last times we can access it. The top end of the lane near the A3 is destined to be destroyed by the rebuilding, and extra slip road lanes being added to the junction courtesy of our misguided Highways Agency.

A club group shot was taken before they obliterate the centuries old trees to save motorist ten minutes on their journeys!

At Ockham Bites we met up with Barry Gregory for elevenses and caught up on the latest news.

The return trip: Cobham, Esher Common, Claygate south, Chessington south, and back into Horton Park where I left the group for the car park and they headed for Cheam.

  1. Sounds like a Great ride Paul. Shame that Pointers Lane will be no more. I use the that Junction a bit during the week but can’t see the reason for the change in anyway.
