Seven riders out today on an overcast first day of June, Ed Pegg, Adam Domaingue, Paul White, Tracy Caudle, Trevor Kite, and Bill Kent, with Bill Martin leading. The route out was via the Hogsmill River, Horton Country Park, Epsom Common, Leatherhead and then the climb past Bockett’s Farm.
The cafe was cosy on our arrival, but an automatic door for the disabled had a mind of its own which sometimes led to a wind tunnel situation, in one door and out the other!
The climb up was worth the views from the top looking out towards distant Woking and across to London’s skyline.
Our route back was via Bookham Common, Fetcham, River Lane. After this it was the usual over and under the M25 junction to access the A24 side of Epsom Common leading us back to Horton and Cheam.
