Ride report: Saturday 4th January MTB Leatherhead

Four riders met at Cheam Station south side today: Mick Curtis, Dave Repson, Sean Slammon and myself leading.

Today’s route took us the usual Nonsuch, Ewell, Horton Park route and then across Ashtead Common and Ashtead Park. We climbed a little to the bridleway towards Stane Street and dropped into a Leatherhead via the footbridge over the M25 south of the Leatherhead Road.

Elevenses were at Clarke’s cafe south of the River Mole. After warming back up from a cold and slightly overcast day we headed back via the back doubles avoiding B2430 Kingston Road. We again used another footbridge path over the ever entertaining M25, a path that cuts right under and through the slip road roundabout at Junction 9.

We followed the Kingston Road on the north side of the M25 towards Malden Rushett, turned into Ashtead Common north  and headed back across Horton Park. We then took a few alternative paths back to Cheam for a little bit more variety in the last couple of miles of the return route.

Miles: 23.
