Three riders met at Nonsuch Mansion at 09:15hrs, Adam Domaingue, Dave Clarke and myself leading. Alas Mick Curtis had started out to join us but had electrical power problems with his bike and had to return to base.
It was a bright sunny day and all the mud in Nonsuch had gone hard as we bumped our way across it heading for the Hogsmill River in Ewell. We followed the river all the way through to Kingston where we crossed the Thames. Bushey Park was busy, but thankfully the main road through it is still closed to vehicles, which made the trip through peaceful.
Soon we were in Hampton and heading for the shared cycle path through the residential green corridor of Kempton. We crossed back over the Thames at Walton Bridge after passing through Shepperton.
At the Wild Brunch cafe we met Barry Gregory and caught up on each other’s news. A while later we left into a blustery NNE head wind for the return ride route through Thames Ditton, Arbrook Common, Chessington and back across Horton Country Park.
Good ride Chaps, 35 miles for me.
