Hottest day of the year and a day off. Obvious day for a mountain bike ride. The plan was to head to Epsom downs for for an ice cream and cold drink, but a loose crank arms saw a stop at Halfords in Epsom where a nice chap tightened them up for free. Result as one of our older members would say.
From there i tried to remember my way through the back of Ashtead Common, past Mr Diggers old school and then climb up to Headley Road. Then followed the track down to the Downs and up to Langley Vale Road which eventually leads to the coffee hut on the down. IT WAS CLOSED. But did open after 15mins. After an Solero lolly and a bottle of water i made my way across Epsom golf course and onwards to Nonsuch park and Carshalton.
Oh and I did stop in the Greyhound pub for a shandy as I was passing.
Not a bay way to spend my day off….😊
