Saturday 6th Septemer 2025 Off Road Ride to Rykers

What a day this was. Good weather, good riding, good food and good company. Paul White met Bill Kent at Nonsuch Park where their ride started.  They arrived at Horton Park in good spirits where they met Digger Dave chatting to some member of Kingston Phoenix. Decent bunch they are. Could have chatted for hours however this is a bike club so we decided some riding was in order.

Before leaving Paul stripped off how arm warmers and left them in his car. Meeting Digger at Horton def had it purposes. From there we rode at a leisurely place through epsom common towards Headley via Ashtead. Due to Digger suffering from a recent bout of Covid he wanted to make sure he was doing some climbs to exercise the lungs and legs but nothing too bad as deep breathes still cause pain. Paul assisted with this route and it was excellent. A good cardio session without overdoing it.

Highlight of the ride was definitely seeing the view from the top of Box Hill. Truly incredible and a great reminder of making the most of scenery we have on our doorstep whilst we cab. The route down was as bumpy as always and some goody 1 shoes has fixed the fence at the bottom meaning you  have to stop and open a gate. What a liberty.

Rykers was busy with motorbikers all in good spirits and enjoying the weather. Great to see so many people out. Despite how busy it was I barely had to wait for the best smash burger for around £8. Geoff Pyke joined us for a drink and a friendly session of putting the world to rights. Remember you dont need to ride with us to join us at the coffee stops. All are welcome and a bit of company never hurt anyone.

The route back was a standard route back through Leatherhead. Cheers for those who came
