18th April. Emma and I had a brilliant day in glorious sunshine riding through some of the most beautiful parts of the New Forest. The course had 2 distances 83 and 56 miles and was very suitable for newcomers to sportives as the course was gently undulating for most of the day except for a short 25% climb just after the second feed. With abotu 1500 riders the atmosphere was good and there were plenty of wheels to hang on to as we went round. Wiggle’s organisation was up to it’s usual standard. Route sigining was excellent and you were provided with your race pack of gels, drinks and bars before the event as well as well stocked feed staions on the way round. Emma and I averaged around 17mph and finished in around 5 hours . Definitely in the diary for next year. Caroline
Hi Girls, very well done, thank you both for keeping the Clarencourt presence out there, good speed as well, the roads down there in and around the Forest can be a bit tough, well for us oldies anyway, I have been off the bike this week, due to being elevated to chief dog minder, Chris is away with the girls in Turkey for a week, they even saw a couple of stages of the Tour of Turkey, how sick is that, I’m the bike rider and they see a bike race, oh well back in the saddle next week, well done again, Barry.
