Three riders met on a bright, sunny day for today’s thrilling adventure. Jigs Patel, Mark Davies and myself leading. Still a bit chilly today, so a brisk climb up to the top of Epsom Downs to Tattenham Corner via Priest Hill.
After taking in a little history we proceeded around the eastern perimeter of the racecourse and descended towards Langley Vale and Thirty Acre Barn. A couple of bridleways and a traverse of Ashtead Park and we arrived at the cafe tea stop.
The usual refuelling took place, and the irritations of mountain bike component compatibility was one topic of many discussed.
Our return route took us across an elongated route over Ashtead Common, into Horton Country Park and back along the Hogsmill River to Ewell.
Nice ride, good company, just over 18 miles for me.
